Rasheed
Ige
I'm a Londoner who works in two fields. I manage data the NHS relies on at King's College Hospital, and I help run festivals and brand events, from Glastonbury to Brockwell Park. Since 2012 I've also run community projects of my own, from homeless shelters to water fights.
Who is Rasheed Ige?
I'm a Londoner and a fluent Yoruba speaker. For the last decade I've worked in NHS data and in live events, and I've run community projects of my own alongside both.
People who know me tend to use the same words: down to earth, empathetic, committed and joyful. At work I'm pragmatic and diligent, and I stay calm when it matters. I'm happiest when people are together, whether that's a crew on a long build day or a room of adults who have just remembered how to play.
Community development is my passion. I founded I Am Finest, which became Finest Foundation, followed by The Eligible Bachelor and For The Big Kids. I taught Yoruba during lockdown and for three years after, and I sat on Ebbsfleet Development Corporation's community board.
I act on ideas. Each of my projects started as something I decided to try, and I stick with things until they work. I bring a team spirit to every crew I join, and I look after the people around me.
Outside work, I like staying healthy and taking on new challenges. I've run the Big Half, but I have no plans for a full marathon.
About
Data
I make sure the NHS can trust its numbers.
- King's College Hospital, since 2018: now Senior Data Analyst and Data Manager, leading a team of eleven.
- 67,000 patients and 82 million health observations, kept accurate, governed and ready to use.
- A 1.2TB migration across five departments, making patient data faster to find and easier to trace.
- Automated reporting in Python, SQL and Tableau, giving leaders clear and timely figures.
Events
I look after people and keep the day moving.
- Glastonbury and Meatopia: artist liaison, keeping performers briefed, looked after and on time.
- Brand events: Nike's Studio Fleece Inc. with JD and ASOS, LEGO at the Serpentine and Damson Madder.
- Notting Hill Carnival: part of the crowd safety team at Europe's biggest street festival.
- Fifteen years on the ground, stewarding everything from Wembley to the Diamond Jubilee.
Community
Community development is what drives me.
- I Am Finest, 2012, later Finest Foundation: Hope N Mic nights and workshops in homeless shelters.
- The Eligible Bachelor, 2020: preparing men for marriage through mental health, finance and emotional intelligence.
- For The Big Kids, 2021: encouraging play in adulthood to tackle stress and make friends.
- Yoruba and Ebbsfleet: taught Yoruba and sat on Ebbsfleet's community board.
